What a breath-taking end to the 2019 Guinness Six Nations.
First we had France beating Italy in style in Rome and then a Welsh Grand Slam in Cardiff – there was still plenty more excitement to come.
Eddie Jones’ men miraculously stormed into a 31-0 lead in 31 minutes at Twickenham, until Scotland produced an astonishing comeback to take the lead, finally drawing 38-38.
This is how the world reacted…
The draw means Scotland retain the Calcutta Cup they won 12 months ago with that win over England at BT Murrayfield…
A happy captain as Scotland retain the Calcutta Cup!#AsOne pic.twitter.com/ELiWOQuYrk

A Scottish scrum-half was straight onto social media after leaving the field…
dunno what just happened there.

A certain back rower who no doubt would have loved to have been on the Twickenham pitch was still driving his men on…
If @Scotlandteam win this, it will be one of biggest turnaround in history…..COOOOMMMMEEEEE ON!!!!!!

While a famous full-back was full of praise for another back-three man…

Some fascinating statistics came out of the London clash…
The previous record for the biggest comeback to draw ANY test was also held by @Scotlandteam, when they were 19 points down to @WelshRugbyUnion at Murrayfield in 2001 and drew 28-all!

Some England players of old have been sharing their thoughts…
Never experienced a roller coaster of emotions in a game quite like that before. Plenty to look at and tough questions to answer in the 2nd half – but to come back and score at the end – that display of character from the team is a life saver !!
— Will Carling (@willcarling) March 16, 2019
This has got to be the best ever comeback in rugby!
— Andy Goode (@AndyGoode10) March 16, 2019
And another Scottish leader has been getting involved…
OK, a bit heartbreaking at the end – but what a heroic, historic performance @Scotlandteam – well done to Gregor and all the guys. The Calcutta Cup is coming back to Scotland! #AsOne

There’s been an outpouring of Scottish emotion in the tennis world…

It was a pretty good game Piers, we agree…
Greatest rugby match in history. #ENGvSCO
