A new captain in Caelan Doris and a new father in Finlay Bealham – it’s been a big week in the Ireland camp – but it was business as usual at Captain’s Run this morning as Andy Farrell’s men lock horns with Italy for the third time in the space of a year. Along with three injury-enforced changes, Ireland head coach Andy Farrell believes his team selection for tomorrow’s match against Italy will “keep competition in the right places” as the Championship gathers pace. Farrel said of Italy squad:
“It’s a hell of a pack and a good team at that”
Caelan Doris added their discipline and scrum are two key areas that Ireland want to improve tomorrow afternoon when he captains the team for the first time. Doris said:
“The challenge is to back up last week wiith an even better performance”
