Head coach Marc Lièvremont and members of the French Rugby management team took their minds off this weekend’s semi-final clash against Wales with a fishing trip on Auckland’s Waitemata Harbour.
On board New Zealand Fishing Safari’s 57 ft charter boat the group headed to one of Auckland’s finest fishing spots near the Rangitoto Channel.
While today’s emphasis was on catching fish, the management team looked relaxed ahead of Saturday’s game.
Marc Lièvremont, who was accompanied by his three sons, says the fishing was a great break away from the field.
“We’re obviously very focused on the game this week but it’s nice to take a pause and enjoy some of what Auckland has to offer,” he says.
The group experienced a relaxed afternoon on the water, returning to Westhaven Marina at 6pm with a bin full of snapper and kahawai.
