Williams and Webb switch club colours

There was a busy morning of domestic movements in the Wales camp as Liam Williams and Rhys Webb confirmed a pair of club exits.

Crossing paths at the border, Williams’ summer return to Wales and Scarlets will now take place with immediate effect, while Webb will join Bath in England’s Premiership for the rest of the season.

Grand Slam winning full-back Williams had not featured for the Londoners this campaign as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury sustained at the World Cup.

He has been rehabbing alongside Wayne Pivac’s Guinness Six Nations squad, hoping to feature in Wales’ remaining fixtures against England and Scotland.

The 28-year-old said: “I’ve been working hard on my recovery and can’t wait to get back on the pitch.

“I’ve had a fantastic few years at Saracens and will take some very happy memories away with me.

“I would like to thank everyone involved for their support in making it happen.”

Webb, meanwhile, who featured as Wales beat Italy 42-0 in Round 1 of this year’s Championship, agreed a new contract with Ospreys starting next season, but will join up with Stuart Hooper’s Bath side for the remainder of this campaign.

The 31-year-old – who won the Grand Slam with Wales back in 2012 – remains available for the remainder of this year’s Guinness Six Nations, having left French side Toulon last month.
