Two rounds into this year’s Championship, we’ve got a fairly good idea of the teams to watch as France and Ireland have stormed to the top of the table.

But who are the lynchpins behind their success? Let’s take a look at some stats, powered by AWS.

The below video highlights some of the standout men so far and Ireland full-back Jordan Larmour leads the way in terms of metres made, having galloped over 257m so far.

Just behind him is Italian flyer Matteo Minozzi, who’s cemented his place as a star of the Azzurri team, making 243 metres.

Though his back-row teammates Grégory Alldritt and Charles Ollivon have garnered much of the headlines after France’s 100 per cent start to the Championship, hard-working lock Bernard Le Roux has quietly compiled an impressive portfolio.

With a Championship-leading 44 tackles, the Racing 92 man has laid the defensive groundwork for his teammates’ exhilarating flair.

Ollivon has himself shone as France’s new captain, and he is tied for first place with Welsh winger Josh Adams in terms of tries scored – both have dotted down three times.

Ollivon, however, has also set up three tries for his teammates while, with eight tries in two games, France have crossed the whitewash more than any other team and when you consider that exciting trio Antoine Dupont, Romani Ntamack and Vincent Rattez have set up two tries each, it is no surprise that the Les Bleus are once again setting the benchmark.

With another pulsating set of fixtures this weekend, there’s no doubt that the stars on show in Rugby’s Greatest Championship will be in fine form once again on the biggest stage.
