Scotland fly-half Finn Russell will play no further part in preparations for their Guinness Six Nations opener against Ireland, Scottish Rugby have confirmed.
A statement from Scottish Rugby says the Racing 92 playmaker has been disciplined for a breach of team protocol during the week’s training camp in Edinburgh.
The 27-year-old, who made his Scotland debut in 2014, has since returned to his club.
A Scotland team spokesperson said: “Stand-off Finn Russell will play no further part in preparations for Scotland’s Six Nations opener against Ireland, having been disciplined for a breach of team protocol during the week’s camp in Edinburgh. He has returned to his club.”
Gregor Townsend’s men begin their 2020 Championship campaign with a trip to Dublin to face Ireland in Round 1 before welcoming England to BT Murrayfield in Round 2.
