Ireland duo Cian Healy and Garry Ringrose proved to be the matchwinners for Leinster as they retained their Guinness PRO14 crown in Glasgow.
Centre Ringrose and loosehead prop Healy each went over in the first half at Celtic Park as Leinster saw off Glasgow Warriors 18-15.
Matt Fagerson and Grant Stewart went over for the Warriors, one in each half, but they left themselves just too much to do.
And yet it was Glasgow who had started the stronger, with two-time Player of the Championship Stuart Hogg particularly influential on his final game for the Warriors.
His kicking game put Leinster under pressure, but it was through the forwards that they opened the scoring. Scott Cummings made good ground initially and then Fagerson sniped over. Adam Hastings, who made his Guinness Six Nations bow in 2019, added the conversion.
Leinster’s response was immediate, Luke McGrath charging down Hogg and Ringrose the fastest to react, although Johnny Sexton could not add the extras.
A Hastings penalty made it 10-5 to Glasgow, but when Healy powered over from close range, the Irish side led for the first time with Sexton’s conversion.
He added a penalty either side of half-time, and despite Stewart’s late score in the corner, Leo Cullen’s side held on to defend their title.
That meant disappointment for Glasgow, and Hogg on his final appearance for the team, but they contributed plenty in front of a record crowd.
