Highlights: Wales seal Grand Slam with win over Ireland

Wales completed a perfect 2019 Guinness Six Nations campaign as they toppled Ireland 25-7 after a relentless display in Cardiff.

In Warren Gatland’s final Championship campaign his side extended their unbeaten streak to 14 matches and confirmed him as the first coach ever to win three Grand Slams.

Hadleigh Parkes scored the opener after just 70 seconds as he latched onto Gareth Anscombe’s dink to send the Principality Stadium wild.

The latter was then flawless off the kicking tee as he registered the rest of Wales’ points with his boot, making all seven of his attempts at goal.

Ireland did threaten in spurts but Parkes made a decisive defensive tackle to track Jacob Stockdale and take him down short of the line in the first half.

The metronomic Anscombe guided the hosts to a 16-0 lead at the break and added three more successful penalty attempts to extend the advantage to 25-0.

Ireland looked set to be shut out by Wales but Jordan Larmour touched down right on full-time as Joe Schmidt’s men left the Welsh capital with a consolation score.
